Bar and licensed card room first lcoated at 302 D. St. and owned by "Smokey" Murrel Mehaffey. The club was bought by Johnsie Bryant in 1974, and it moved to 321 "E" Street. Bryant was issued a new card room license in 1975. During the 1970s it was more often called "Smokey's Tavern".

T. R. King sold around 2000 large and small crown chips to Smokey's at 302 D Street, Lemoore, CA, between 1968 and 1977.

After closing, "Ruby's Place" (1979 - 1988), also a licensed card room, moved into this address. Later "Lilia's Card Room" (1988 - 1995), moved into this location (see "Became").
