915 "H" Street
Modesto, California
Type: Card Room
Status: Closed
Open: 1938, Close: 1953

Bar and card room located sandwiched in between the "Nevada Club" and the "State Club" on H Street. It became the "New Eldora Club" around 1953 (see "Became"). Legal gaming was active there until the mid-1960s, when Modesto passed an ordinance making card rooms illegal. T. R. King sold 2000 of the large crown chips in four colors to El Dora Club, O. O. Caldwell, George L. Webb, 915 H Street, Modesto, California, on 8/13/1952.

Listing from 1948 Modesto City Yellow Pages, under "Card Playing Rooms" (Library of Congress).
