R. E. (Pat) Cadrett and Frank Vacarro owned "Vacarro and Cadrett" a cigar store, which beginning in December 1933 (the end of prohibition) advertised as a liquor store and cafe. They purchased the Vernon Club in 1936. Both establishments had clubrooms for card playing, with the Vernon Club functioning as a licensed card room until the 1960s (see "Archive").

Mason & Co. first shipped 1,300 of these hub mold chips in five colors to Vaccaro & Cadrett, 919 Eye Street, Modesto, CA in 1939 and later 200 more chips to Vaccaio [sp] Cadett, 1018 Eye Street, Modesto, California, in 1941.
