Redondo Beach, California
Type: Card Room

Open: 1935, Close: 1946

Owned by Bert J. Griffith. Also called the "Wagon Wheel Cafe". The Redondo City Council granted Griffith a skill game license in 1935. In 1937, he was charged with illegal gambling on the grounds that the "Horse Race Chips" game he ran at his club was an illegal lottery, banking, and percentage game. He was acquitted (see "Archive"). Griffith also owned the "Hob-Nob Card Room" adjacent to the Wagon Wheel, and opened "Griff's" (107 N. El Paseo) in 1939.

Mason & Co. sold 6,000 of these hub mold chips in three colors/denominations to Bert Griffith, c/o Griff's Chip Game, Redondo Beach, California, on 6/19/1936.
