T. R. King sold 300 of these small crown chips in three denominations to Lowell E. McDaniel, Jr., 408 Dorado, Ridgecrest, California, in 1967.

The attribution of the chips to the Hot Spot Bar, and years of gaming activity, are traced to Eastman's Illustrated Guide to California Card Room Gaming Chips & Checks (1998).
