Beginning in 1960, "Schmitt's Tavern" was at this address, owned by Carlos Schmitt. The "123 Club" opened in 1961 with a licensed card room. Owned by Schmitt and Pete Mazzanti. (Charlie Bates, managed the room for them). It was bought by Max Sklover in 1966, who changed the name to the "Playtime Club".

T. R. King sold 3000 of these large crown chips in six colors to Pete Mazzanti and Charles R. Schmidt in 1961.
