Max and Al Levin, Polish immigrants, opened the Central Cigar Store in 1920, and owned it until at least the mid-1940s. Over the years it was expanded to include a restaurant and recreation room.

T. R. King sold 500 of the large crown chips in three colors to the Central Cigar Store in 1940.
