| Notwithstanding the penal code, in Italy there are four authorized casinos located in Campione d´Italia ( Casino Campione), Saint-Vincent ( Casino de la Vallee), Sanremo ( Casino Sanremo). Venice ( Casino Venezia).
The first Venetian seat of the casino was the Lido of Venice, and opened on the 30th june 1938.
In 1946 the municipality of Venice buys the Vendramini Calergi Palace, to install there the winter headquarters of the casino .
In 1999 was inaugurated at Ca´Noghera a new casino ( for summer time)
