|Celebrity Edge is the first Edge-class cruise ship operated by Celebrity Cruises. Celebrity Edge was constructed at the STX shipyard in France. The vessel was delivered to Celebrity Cruises on 31 October 2018, and is scheduled to begin sailing in November 2018, depart on her maiden voyage in December 2018.
Celebrity Edge has a tonnage of 130,818GT and a double-occupancy capacity of 2,908 passengers. The newbuild's onboard amenities include an innovative moving deck called The Magic Carpet, serving as a disembarkation point, dance venue, and restaurant. The ship also features the three-deck multi-purpose Eden Lounge, a Rooftop Garden playscape, the adults-only Solarium, and other public venues.
Celebrity Edge's accommodations include several classes of staterooms, including inside, ocean view, veranda, and suite rooms. The ship will offer the company's first staterooms for solo-travelers, as well as "Infinite Veranda" staterooms with garage-door-style walls that open to the outside.
The ship will have what Celebrity Cruises calls the company's most technologically advanced theatre. In December 2018, it was announced that Nobel Peace Prize winner Malala Yousafzai would be the official ship godmother for Celebrity Edge. She helped christen the ship on December 4, 2018.
