The SS Cabo (Cape in English) Izarra was the first cruise ship of the Spanish flag, to be built in Spain dedicated to cruise tourism. Made in the Spanish Society of Shipbuilding Matagorda (Cadiz), in the year 1967 for the Company Ibarra, had a length of 102 meters by 15.50 meters wide and a displacement of 4438 tons. He worked initially conducting cruises to Europe and the Caribbean shortly after taking as a basis the port of San Juan de Puerto Rico, where effected cruises of 15 days duration of the Antilles. Without having achieved many successes, Ibarra got rid of the ship before long. Similarly, soon after, so did their ship SS Cape San Vicente and SS Cape San Roque, dedicated to cruise traffic, so virtually disappeared passenger fleet In 1970 the company was sold to American West Line, who renamed "West Star", later moving to the Pacific.
