The exclusive City Club at 125 Broadway and an adjacent bookmaking operation at 121 Broadway were raided on 10/12/1944. Chips were confiscated. The City Club of Santa Monica dates to the 1920s.

Between 1939 and 1943, T. R. King sold almost 3000 chips in six colors to David Seitz, City Club, 129 Broadway, Santa Monica, CA. Seitz was arrested in the 1944 raid.
