During the late 1930s and 1940s, it was located five miles north of Bakersfield on Highway 99. Gambling was reported there in 1942. In 1952 it was owned by Hartley E. Van Pelt, and had moved to 111 Ridgecrest Blvd., where it stayed during the 1950s and 1960s (see "Archive"). The Gaming Table (5th Ed.) locates it at 109 W. Ridgecrest.

The large crown WDM chips were ordered by W. D. McCreary between 1951 and 1957. In 1957 ownership of the chips was transferred to "Chet's Club" (2301 Edison Highway, Bakersfield) which ordered more WDM chips from 1958 into the 1970s.

The Gaming Table (5th Ed.) identifies these chips as being used at the China Lake Tavern in Ridgecrest. Based on the order card information, that is possibly a mistake.
