ITEM VIEW: CG100324
2160 North Main Street
Salinas, California 93901
Type: Card Room
Status: Closed
Open: 1966, Close: 2003

Licensed card room originally at 534 El Camino Real North. It moved to 2160 Main Street around 1975. Owned by Frank Fossett from 1966 to 2003. Previously called "Lee's Bavarian Inn".

The United States Playing Card Co. sold 1100 of the red C & S chips to the Joe Treyball Co. (a gambling supply company) in St. Louis Missouri, on 3/11/31. They were likely sold on to one of Treyball's Midwest customers. The attribution to Frank's is traced to Armin Pfaender's California Chip Guide (2004), and is almost certainly a mis-attribution.

Advertisement from 8/30/1972, photograph of the club and owner Frank Fossett from 2/7/1991 (both The Californian, Salinas, CA).
