One of Gardena's earliest card palaces. Owned by Ernest “Ernie” Primm with several junior partners.

In 1953, Primm built the Rainbow Club next door and the two clubs were connected by a covered walkway, with a bar and restaurant serving both clubs.

The Monterey Club and Rainbow Club (both located in Gardena, CA) were owned by the same owner (who also owned the Primadonna Club, Reno, NV). Both of the California Clubs spread Pan (panguingue) and both used decks with common backs that reflect both Clubs. These playing cards are "Bicycle" brand, as made by the United States Playing Card Co. (USPCC). Note that the Ace does not use the typical USPCC code number (usually found towards the bottom of the card) that would indicate year of manufacture.
