The U. S. Playing Card Company shipped 1000 chips to A. Carlisle & Co, Upham & Rutledge Co. (San Francisco, CA) on 10/14/1930. In 1930, B. M. Carlisle [BMC] was the president and principal share holder of the combined company.

During this era, monograms in which the center letter is larger, were designed with the initial of the last name being placed in the middle. In other words, it was likely intended to be read as "BMC".
