MS Nieuw Statendam is a cruise ship operated by Holland America Line (HAL), a division of Carnival Corporation. The second of HAL's Pinnacle-class ships, she has been given a name that alludes to five previous HAL ships named Statendam.
Nieuw Statendam was delivered by her builder, Fincantieri, in December 2018. After her inaugural season in the Caribbean, MS Nieuw Statendam will spend summer and autumn 2019 operating sailings in northern Europe and the Mediterranean.
Oprah Winfrey is the ship's "godmother." The cruise ship first sailed in December 2018. Winfrey sailed on a three-day cruise aboard Nieuw Statendam, departing from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, on January 30, 2019. Nieuw Statendam features a three-deck-high central atrium with a stainless-steel sculpture. |
