The casino was built at the time the gambling was allowed in Brazil. The casino opened in 1940 and closed in 1946 when gambling was banned.
It had a large ballroom, a roulette room, a baccarat room, a víspora room (a kind of card game), a restaurant with a French maitre , etc. The building belonged to the City Hall, being the gambling explored by dealers. An aerodrome was built with fortnightly flights that carried players who came to play in the casino or to be treated in the baths.
Forbidden the game, the casino died and was demolished. |
