From newspaper "Diário Carioca" 02.21.1953 GAMBLING WORKS FROM JANUARY IN LAMBARI "Gambling has been functioning in this city since January. Two casinos with their doors open, receiving from children to the elderly. The Imperial Casino located in the hotel of the same name, and the Casino das Fontes. Both have tables of roulette, baccarat, campista and víspora (bingo) without any concern or threat of competent authorities. In Casino Imperial we have found two roulette tables, one Campista table and another baccarat " NOTE: The gambling was banned in Brazil in 1946.
