The casinos ( brazilians use the term cassinos) arrived in Brazil during the Empire and were attended even by the Emperor D.Pedro II. With the establishment of the republic in 1917 went underground.In 1934 President Getulio Vargas allowed the reopening of casinos.By decree of 30 April 1946, the government of President Marechal Dutra ordered the closure of casinos. Then 71 casinos were closed all over Brazil. The Hotel Quisisana with casino, was built in the decade of 40.The hotel owned three floors and 250 rooms. The casino was closed in 1946 due to the ban on gambling in Brazil |
