| Hotel Internacional opened in 1895 under the name Grand Hotel Jose Menino. It was the first hotel of Praia João Menino and the major driver of its development. Very luxurious, was surrounded by gardens and owned everything needed to accommodate a demanding clientele - music halls, reading rooms and conversation, billiard room, etc. It was immediately frequented by the elite of Santos and the rich connected to culture and coffee trade. Then it was started the habit of sea bathing.
The hotel changed ownership and was renamed Grande Hotel Internacional. The hotel possessed an orchestra and promoted festivals and concerts. The hotel settled a casino that ended in 1946 with the banning of the gambling in Brazil. The hotel was demolished in 1959.
