Ernest H. (Hollywood) Hobbs was the co-owner of the "Metropolitan Pool Hall", and held a card room license for the room from 1950, until his death in 1966. It became the "Metro Card Room" around 1970. These "Hollywood Club" chips may have been used by him there, or possibly elsewhere.
T. R. King sold 1500 of these small crown chips in four denominations to Ernest H. Hobbs, Metropolitan Recreation, 147 South Grand Street, Escondido, California, in 1957 and 1960.
