Also called the "Ambrose's Tavern", "Ambrose Bros Tavern", or "The Ambrose" in the early 1940s. The brothers were Matthew (Mac), Norman, Angelo, and Robert E. Ambrose. A visitor to the establishment in the early 1940s reported it as having between 6 and 8 unlicensed poker and pangingue tables (see "Archive").

The large crown "MAC" chips were also used at "Mac's Tavern", owned by Matthew (Mac) F. Ambrose, located at 1833 Tulare St., which also had a poker room.
