2137 Kern Street
Fresno, California
Type: Card Room
Status: Closed
Open: 1956, Close: 1997

Also called the "Van Ness Pastime Club", and the "Van Ness Card Room". Originally at 901 Van Ness Avenue, it moved to 2220 Tulare Street, and again to 2137 Kern Street in the 1980s.

Licensed for four tables. After Fresno banned poker in 1959, it survived by only offering a single table of panguingue. In the 1980s and until the "Club One Casino" opened in 1995, it was Fresno's only card room. It was last owned by Garabet (Charlie) Vanoyan from 1988 to 1997.

T. R. King sold 1000 of the small crown chips in one color to the Van Ness Club, 901 Van Ness, Fresno, California, in 1963.

Listing from the 1962 Fresno White Pages (Library of Congress).
