Originally known as "Southgate Bingo Palace", which opened in 1983, and was located on the reservation land of the Santa Rosa Indian Community. The British-American Bingo Company bought the Taichi Indian concession in 1986 and changed its name to "The Palace" (see "Was"). In 1994, the Taichi tribe took over the operation of the bingo hall/casino and renamed it the "Palace Indian Gaming Center".
