| The Family is an invitation only all-male private club based in San Francisco, California. It was formed in 1902 by newspapermen who left the Bohemian Club. The club is still open.
The United States Playing Card Co. sold inlaid chips in four colors and engraved chips in three colors to the Family Club, San Francisco, in 1921.
Since around 1910 the club has maintained a San Francisco clubhouse on Powell Street, as well as a rural property 35 miles to the south in Woodside, CA. The photograph is of the Powell Street location (Google Street View). |
