An Asian gambling establishment owned by Bok Hing Chan, one of the kingpins of Bay area Chinese gambling in the 1930s and 1940s. Located at 2634 Bayshore Boulevard, the club literally straddled the San Francisco and San Mateo county line. Raided in February 1945, with more than 150 patrons arrested, $42,250 in cash seized, and three keepers, Fong Bolk Hong, Quan Chang Fong, and Hai Chan charged with running a gambling establishment.
T. R. King sold 6600 of these chips in four colors to Jimmy Lloyd, 2090 Pacific Avenue, San Francisco, California, (Club 2634 Bayshore), in 1943. (The Pacific Avenue address was a residential apartment building). |
