817 South Eleventh Ave.
Hanford, California
Type: Card Room
Status: Closed
Open: 1972, Close: 1980s

T. R. King sold 3900 of these small crown chips in three denominations to Frank Pollard at 817 South Eleventh Avenue, Hanford, CA, between 1972 and 1982. The address was his home address. During the 1960s and 1970s, Pollard was the manager of the Elks Lodge #1259, 506 North Douty Street, Hanford, and these chips were likely used there.

Eastman's Illustrated Guide to California Card Room Gaming Chips & Checks (1998) associates these chips with the "Cottage Club" in Hanford, but Pollard had no known connection to that card room or bar.
