| Carratraca is a municipality in the province of Malaga.In the 19th century Carratraca became one of the most famous spas in Europe.The bath house was built in 1855 by order of King Fernando VII. During its heyday Carratraca attracted the best European aristocracy - kings like Fernando VII, empresses like Eugenia de Montijo (wife of Napoleon III) and literary people like Alexandre Dumas and Lord Byron. For distraction of the goes of the spa there were three casinos in Carratraca (with gambling ). The most luxurious was the Casino Recreativo. Another one was the Casino Leon de Oro. |
