In 1877 a gaming room is allowed : but only petits chevaux are accepted . In 1901 a new casino is built in the shape of a ship, which was demolished in 1907. The 1907 law allows gambling in spas and resorts , a new and much larger building is then constructed and became the first real casino d'Enghien . in 1914, the First World War put an abrupt end to the Belle Epoque.The casino closes its doors and became a military hospital. The Finance Act 1920 prohibits games within a hundred kilometers of Paris . In 1931 the Minister of the Interior , allows gambling to Enghien. World War II broke out and from September 2 , 1939, the casino closes its doors again . In June 1940, the Germans occupied the city. In 1946, the casino reopened , but only during the thermal season,only table games .In 1988, the Lucien Barrière Group is operator of the Société d'Exploitation des Eaux and Spa Enghien-les-Bains . The Casino of Enghien Casino is the number one in France,located 14 km from the Champs-Elysées, Paris.
