Jean Paul Serrat obtained, after a resolution of the Municipal Council
of Hermanville from 11.29.1908 ,a license for installation of a
casino with gambling, which would be installed in Villa de Vienne.
The license was approved by the Reglement des Jeux of the Ministere de
lnterieur ( Internal Affaires Ministry – Gambling Department ), and it
was authorized to
practice in special places and separate rooms, the following games:
Two Tables Baccarat , Baccarat Chemin de Fer, Petits Chevaux,
l'Ecarté, Whist, Bridge, Piquet.
In order to start up the project Serrat obtained the rental of the
Villa de Vienne for 18 years, and a land where he wanted to build a
boutique house, tennis courts, shooting range and a golf course. Also
had the project to build a hotel.
On July 10, 1910 the Ministry of the Interior grants leave to gambling
at the casino to Victor Houzel, renter of the casino of Hermanville.
The Casino would be licensed for at least three years. The authorized
games were Petits Chevaux, Whist, Bridge and Piquet.
We could not confirm the casino's closing year. In records of the
casino gambling revenues in France in 1910, the Casino de Hermanville
appears with a small revenue of 2178 francs. The largest revenue of
the casinos in the period 1909-1910 was attributed to Casino Municipal
de Nice with 7.5 million francs. |
