The current configuration of Saint-Pierre-en-Port dates back to the beginning of the 19th century. The village of Saint-Pierre is located in the valley, close to the sea. It is inhabited by a population of sailors who practice fishing on foot and inshore fishing aboard small boats. In 1886, like the larger municipalities such as Dieppe or Saint-Valery-en-Caux, the valley of Saint-Pierre revives through the emerging tourism baths of sea. It is in 1889 that are built the " Grand Hotel des Terrasses "and the casino, destroyed in 1944 by the Germans). |
