Built in 1977, the boat was originally an offshore supply vessel to rigs in
oil fields in the Gulf Of Mexico. In 1988, the boat was converted to a gambling
ship, renamed "Stardancer" and operated out of Tampa, Florida. When it's
former owners fell behind on their taxes, the Internal Revenue Service seized
the ship and auctioned it off in 2003. It was purchased by Millionaire's Casino's operating company Dynamic Gaming Solutions who had the vessel rebuilt
and planned to set up operations in Savannah, Georgia in 2004. The boat
failed it's test runs and never opened.
Renamed Texas Star, it became a scallop boat until it was sunk off the coast of Delaware as an artificial reef in 2022. |
