| The first news of a gambling room in Montecatini spa dates back to 1816 located in the upper rooms of the Locanda Maggiore.It had the access very restrict and confidential. It will be the meeting place for over 90 years for selected guests. In 1907 he will find more suitable accommodation at the Excelsior,inaugurated in the same year, and finally at the Kursaal in 1915.
Opened in 1907, the Excelsior complex was to house the Casino Municipal Excelsior, including a cafe concert, with associated gambling and writing rooms.
Its transformation from Grand Café and Municipal Casino into a thermal spa establishment,the Excelsior Spa Montecatini, dates back to 1915.
