Shoe Chip. Inlay on one side only and the inlay (not the chip) has a drill hole in the center. Reverse side is hot-stamped. Shoe chips, such as this one were glued or otherwise fastened to the back of a card shoe, with the drilled inlay side facing out. A shoe chip, being attached to a shoe, helped to prevent the introduction of a 'stacked deck' of cards, by surreptitiously swapping out an in-play shoe. (Yes, it has been done!)
