| This casino opened its doors on August 1, 1910, and immediately attracted the aristocracy of the South Portugal and Andalusia ( Spain)for its gambling halls, dance and concerts.
To Sociedade Anónima de Responsabilidade Lda, called Praia da Rocha has been awarded the exclusive operation of the temporary zone of gamble. The contract was signed in September 1928 under the Temporary Zone, valid for 30 years. The contract was terminated by Game Order of the Government of April 22, 1937.
This was due to the fact that the Empresa Praia da Rocha, concessionaire of the gambling manifested itself not available to build the hotel, which Decree No. 27.609, of 04.01.1937, as stipulated obligation to Concession Companies.
