| Casino de Sintra was built between 1922 and 1924 and was opened on 1rst August 1924.
The casino becomes instantly a place for meetings and cosmopolitan wishes, in which the vacationers dispersed in the gambling rooms, ballroom, restaurant, American bar and concerts.
The casino was a center of Sintra´s fun, gambling included.
Sintra was considered gaming zone by 1927 legislation. However, the grant had not been awarded for lack of interest. The clientele at the Casino de Sintra decreasing, the decline has accelerated, making it inevitable closure. The casino has gone to auction in 1938. The casino reopened briefly in 1945.
