| The Sociedade Harmonia Eborense has been established since 1902, in one of the best buildings in Praca do Giraldo, the former Estaus Palace. This company was founded on April 23, 1849 and its first statutes date from July 26, 1853. The Statutes were approved by Royal Charter of Queen D. Maria II of August 10, 1853.
The Royal License of approval was signed by Queen D. Maria II, on August 10, 1853. The Republican elite from various political quarters met at the Harmonia Eborense Society.
It was a place of socializing where one could drink, read a newspaper or a book in his library, play billiards, cards. His dances were also very famous on holidays. The Sociedade Harmonia Eborense had a long tradition of theatrical representations. has a magnificent library with thousands of volumes some of high value. From its cultural activity many were the brilliant conferences there pronounced by great figures of the Portuguese intellectuality. Their dances were like grateful memory of the eborense modality that frequented the Harmony.
SHE marked a time in the life of the city.The years after the Revolutionary Period of 1974 were difficult for SHE. However, in the last decades the Society has regained importance in the life of the City and has once again become a privileged space for socializing. Rehabilitating the headquartes and revitalizing its agenda, SHE has ceased to be a space of exclusively male coexistence, attending to a growing confluence of generations in the space of SHE. |

Display with jetons existing cards in the Sociedade Harmonia and list of existing jetons in the inventory of January 1931. There were three racks to date; first one with DOVE with chips of 2 ,50, 5, 10,20, , 100, 500 and 1000 ESCUDOS; rack with SHE monogram jetons 1, 2 .5, 5,10,20 and 100 ESCUDOS; METALICC jetons rack f with 2,50,5, 10 , 20 and 50 ESCUDOS metallic jetons and also copper jetons 0,5 ESCUDO. In the display appears a 250 plaque that is not in the list.
By diverting, being the name of the Sociedade Harmonia (Harmony Society) is well chosen the symbol of the dove to put on the tokens. The rest have the initials SHE (Sociedade Harmonia Eborense.) By the values of jetons and plaques we can conclude that the oldest file is the Metallic, followed by SHE and then Dove. The currency Escudos is the republican currency – after 1910, and the Sociedade Harmonia was founded more than 50 years before and must have issued chips in this period in REIS.
