The Circle was founded in 12.15.1876 to host the social , cultural and educational needs of the Romanian army. The military circles were a meeting place where the officers discussed issues related to war and military strategy , and like the civil clubs possessed libraries, living rooms, restaurants, bed rooms, restaurants and entertainment venues such as dances and gambling .
The construction works of the circle building began in 1911 and were completed in 1914. In 1916, during the Bucharest occupation , was evacuated and turned into prison. After the Great war , the recovery works are started , and in February 4, 1920 was solemnly inaugurated with the presence of the Romanian kings. During the communist period adopted in 1949,the designation of Casa Centrala a Armatei and since 1989 Cercul Militar National, now dedicated to arts and culture. |
