The Statendam was a cruise ship of the Holland-America Line. In 1992 the ship was put into service with the Holland-America Line. The Statendam had the port of Rotterdam as its home port. The Statendam was used on cruises to the Panama Canal and Alaska, and later also to Hawaii and Tahiti.
The ship was sold in 2015 to P&O Australia, who renamed it Pacific Eden. The Statendam, together with the Ryndam, was replaced by the Italian-built Koningsdam, whose home port was Amsterdam. (source wikipedia.nl) |

A number of Holland America Line ships have been named Statendam, the moniker of an old dike on the island of Goeree-Overflakkee.
Note: All Holland America ships have the last part of their name "dam" to reflect a region in the Netherlands because that's how people identified where a townships was located in the Netherlands. (for example Amsterdam, Rotterdam, ...)
This highly prized Delft stoneware recognizes the history of the first Statendam named ship that sailed the oceans afar.
It was a gift to all first class passengers, two pieces per cabin.
Back side has non-slip cork backing.
