In the 19th century Wiesbaden was a very famous spa , where were living a large amount of millionaires. Gambling was too an attraction at Casino Wiesbaden . Dostoievsky wrote here some of his books, relating gambling stories. In 1872, the Imperial Government closed down all the german casinos, Wiesbaden included. The Wiesbaden Casino was reopened in 1949.
