Club dos Restauradores- Maxim´s Praça dos Restauradores 49 Lisboa, Portugal Type: Other Status: Closed Open: prior 1913, Close: after1930 During the period of 1st World War , Lisbon became a city of fun and unruled pleasure. Some magnificent and luxurious casinos were opened. Several clubs were established down town of the capital, some of which in luxurious palaces. This illicit activity was only possible with the connivance of the police department, which closed its eyes in Exchange of some special favours . This was only achieved in late 1927, with gambling regulations , defining specific gambling areas -thermal and beach zones and no longer in the cities.
