Although attributed to Ellensburg, WA, C.W. Rice Co. shipping records reveal that the L-mold chips were sent to Elias Munoz, 7340 Monterey St., Gilroy, CA in 1975. The first order was reported stolen and replaced with more soon afterward. The address later became that of a furniture store in downtown Gilroy, a few doors north of the Garlic City Club.

No known explanation for how these California chips might have made it up to Ellensburg, WA.
