T. R. King sold about 1700 of these small crown chips to E. C. Isely, Beach Club, 3803 Mission Beach, San Diego, California, between 1959 and 1960. E. L. Compton purchased the club and chips in 1961, and soon after Barney Nix purchased the club and chips from Compton in 1962.

Note: Eastman's Illustrated Guide to California Card Room Gaming Chips & Checks (1998) associates both the Small Crown and H&C chips with the "Beach Club", 5032 Newport Avenue 78, Ocean Beach, California, open from 1978 to 1979. (Ocean Beach is a beach neighborhood in San Diego.) Owned by Tom White, Arthur Elder, and Helen Symington.

The The Gaming Table (2017) associates the H&C chips with the "Beach Club Card Room" at 3726 Mission Blvd., San Diego, CA, open 1963.

Listing (bottom) from the 1979 San Diego Yellow Pages, under "Card Rooms". Note: there is a second "Beach Club Card Room" listed at 2280 Garnet Avenue. There were several different Beach Club card rooms in San Diego.
