T. R. King sold 2300 of these large crown chips in nine colors to Earl H. Thomas [EHT], 1074 E. San Joaquin, Tulare, CA in 1945. The address was his home address. In 1945, Earl H. Thomas became co-owner of the "J & M Cafe" at 124 East Kern Street, Tulare. It closed in 1947 (see "Archive").

Eastman's Illustrated Guide to California Card Room Gaming Chips & Checks (1998), however, identifies these chips as having been used at the "Tagus Ranch" on Highway 99, and reports that gaming ended in 1968.
