ITEM VIEW: CG039014
958 Main St.
Brawley, California
Type: Card Room
Status: Closed
Open: 1942, Close: 1948

Reportedly owned by Joe G. Vasquez.

The attribution of the large crown hot stamp chips is traced to Pfaender (2013). Not in Eastman (1998) or Pfaender (2004).

No T. R. King order cards are preserved for the 1, 5, and 100 denominations, but T. R. King sold 300 pink "JGV" 500 denomination large crown chips to Joe Vasques [sp] in 1942. The chips were likely picked up from T. R. King's Los Angeles headquarters.

Listing (bottom) from the 1948 Imperial County Yellow Pages, under "Billiard Parlors".
