In 1950 it was testified in court that Lloyd R. Peterman had a gambling operation in Butte county that was protected by the county sheriff's vice squad (see "Archive").

Mason & Co. sold 610 of the hub mold chips in four colors to Lloyd Peterman (c/o Doris Smith), 815 9th Street, Marysville, California on 6/16/1939. The address was a private residence.

Almost ten years later, Mason sold a second larger batch of 3000 of these hub mold chips in six colors to Lloyd Peterman, 818 10th Street, Marysville, CA, on 2/24/1947.
