Opened in 1932 as a cigar shop owned by H. L. Booth. In 1952, new partners Bill "Red" Scoggin and John Silva opened a licensed six-table cardroom. In the late 1960s, Tom Hoeber and Jerry Wolfe bought the card room.

Also referred to as the "Rex Card Club". After closing in 1971, the "Golden Horseshoe" cardroom opened at the same location in 1972. From San Jose Gambling (2020) Ted Ramos.
