An exclusive Fresno men's social club originally located in the Forsyth building, until it burned down in 1919. In 1923, the club moved in to occupy the entire top floor of the newly built Patterson building, at the same address as the old Forsyth building. In 1927, the Sequoia Club voted to combine with the "University Club" another exclusive men's social club, and they became the "University-Sequoia Club" (see Archive).

The United States Playing Card Company sold these chips in three colors to Samuel's Smoke House (a tobacco retailer with several stores in Fresno) in 1921. Samuel's likely ordered these chips for the Fresno Sequoia Club.

Graphic is a detail from a post-1927 matchbook, after the club's merger with the University Club.
