| The small town of St Maxime is south facing at the northern shore of the Gulf of Saint In 1922, was built the Miramar bar-dancing which will be replaced later by the casino, which opened in 1929 and was was frequented by the high society of the time.The casino Art Deco building has suffered successive additions, removing its superb terrace overlooking the sea and its bas-relief on the north side. August15, 1944, the beach of Saint Maxime was the centre of Operation Dragon, the invasion and liberation of the Southern France during WWII. USA Delta Force landed at St Maxime.
Periods of operation after WWII:
Seasons from 1948 to 1990 and from 2002 to 2012. The casino was completely renovated in 1966. Company Casino de Sainte Maxime was recorded in May 27, 1997, but it will take nearly 54 months before the inauguration by the Accor group in association with the former owner Mr. Ferrand .The casino reopened in November 19, 2001 (the chips of the second series have been used only 43 days until the beginning of euro currency).
The casino is located on the beach seafront facing St Tropez.
Casino is now owned by Lucien Barrière group. |
