These chips were ordered before the name was approved, as Vancouver Casino name was already taken the owner instead used the name Fairmont Casino and painted out "Vancouver" on all chips on hand at the time. Later the chips were bought out by the Royal Casino in Quesnel, B.C. and used there, the higher denomination chips $25 and up were issued by the Royal Casino as was a re-order of the 50c chip. The casino was not in the Vancouver area so there was no need to paint over "Vancouver" The Royal Casino later became Billy Barker Casino.
